Rockmaster 2009

Yesterday was the very first time that I stepped into Singapore Polytechnic to compete in a rock climbing competition, Rockmaster. I was not expecting anything great as it was my first time competing in such of an event. Nonetheless, I just wanted to give my best & to gain some experience from it. As I was waiting for my turn to go up the wall, I just prayed that the level of difficulty will not be as tough but I soon realised that it was very tough indeed when I was told of the route on which rocks to climb on as soon as it was my turn. In addition, the rocks that I was supposed to stand on were all very small & I was unable to balance myself properly thus falling onto the padded ground a lot of times. Out of the 4 routes given, I completed none. At that point of time, I was extremely disappointed in myself for not trying my best but I can't change the fact that I'm not a good climber yet.
Out of 140 plus male competitors, only 16 are able to move on to compete in the finals at Marina Barrage next week. I have a HUGE feeling that I will not be selected to compete. Isn't is obvious? I just hope that I will get better for any upcoming competitions & I do want to be a great climber one day. Oh Yes, I'm sO Co0l!
