On the 1st of August every year, all nurses around the world are appreciated in a way that nobody can imagine. It is because it is the only day of the year that they can finally smile and realise how people appreciate all the hardwork they have done and it is finally time to have their day.I personally feel that as nurses, you are a little special as compared to doctors.Yes, I agree that doctors are the ones who treat all those diseases and have higher education but it is the care that is vital for the people affected and if not done properly, the illness can get worse. Nurses are the ones who reach out to these people emotionally;comforting them in time of need, showering, cleaning after them and also feeding them if they are not able to. That is why, nurses do need to be appreciated in one way or another. I, as a nurse in the making, indeed have a sense of respect to these nurses and I do hope that people around the world will feel the same thing. Happy Nurses' Day.

Kayaking Course
Man, am I tired! Spending my weekend going for the kayaking course at Water Venture Pasir Ris was a stretch indeed. Aches & sunburns are all over my body. Even though it was tough, I never felt more satisfied. Yes, I do agree that doing a lot of capsizing, rescuing and kayaking to fish farms on the sea from 10am-4pm for 2 days was not easy but the reward in the end was just so wooo!
I managed to learn more that I expected & the time spent was worthwhile. It felt as though that I did myself a favour for not being idle for 2 days but doing something to be proud of & the certificate given will last you your whole life. I know that the certificate just certified me as a 1 star kayaker but if given the chance, I do want to try on the 2 star course. Oh well, we'll just have to wait what lies ahead but in the meantime, I felt happy that my weekend was indeed a good one.
As for the aches & especially the sunburns, I think I'll just need to be patient & wait till it heals.
Oh yes, I'm S0 C0ol!

Friendship
How do we know that the relationship between one another will last till eternity? How do we manage ourselves when we argue over things no matter how big it is? Do we be the bigger man; stepping forward & apologise or do we just repent ourselves from them? These are the first few thoughts that came to mind whenever I think of the word "friendship". Yes, I do agree that friends will tend to bug one another from time to time but how do we deal with it? Can we just go with the flow & forget this thing ever happened or do we just use this experience as a lesson? I personally think that we should be the bigger man & apologise thus maybe making the relationship stronger. But what if the things that I thought would happen, was just as imagination? ...
Friendship is indeed a complicated relationship when things don't go right. What I just want to add is that, treasure your friends. Don't let them go because if you do, you will not know when will they come back... Finally, I don't feel that Co0l.

Congratulations Team Singapore & farewell to AYG 2009
As the very first Asian Youth Games comes to an end, I'm really glad to say that having Singapore to host was a very good opportunity indeed. It made the world realised how even a small country, which cannot even be seen in the world map, could rise up to the occasion to make this meet a success. I agree that we were not able to beat China's grand showcase during the Olympics last year but I really think that we can be like them one day.
As for Team Singapore, they made the country proud by achieving a total of 30 medals during the games, making us to be ranked 4th overall. That kind of a result really amazed me as who would have thought that Singapore is 4th out of 45 countries? It's definitely not too shaby. Kudos to Team Singapore! Lastly, I just want to say that these young Singaporean atheletes are not the kind of people you can easily mess around with & underestimated. They will screw you upside down & inside out. I have a feeling that the world should be afraid of our country's future atheletes as who knows maybe a few years down the road, they even may excel in the Olympics. Before I forget, I'm So C()ol!

AYG fever
I don't know why but I can't seem to stop watching AYG on tv every single day. I watched almost every single sports shown; football matches, table tennis, rifle shooting, athletics etc. I can't resist it! I will keep shouting and cheering in front of the tv for team Singapore every time even though I know they will not hear me and all the screaming will not make a difference. Oh well, it is the same thing when you see all these old apeks shouting and the big screen tv at the coffee shop downstairs during EPL or UEFA season. Who's to the blamed?
I'm sure that this AYG fever of mine will fade away when it's over but I'm sure my fever will come back when the Youth Olympics period comes in August 2010.. WooHoo! I'm proud to say that although Singapore is not in the top spot for clinching the most gold medals, Singapore is still in the top 10 and I hope it will change foe the better like the top 5 . Having said that, I'm actually quite glad to see all these youths competing at such a young age and persevering all those tough trainings. They are the ones who will be the next generation of world athletes after Micheal Phelps & Usain Bolt. Finishing off, I wonder what will happen if I were to be one of them. I'm sure I'll be dead last. Before I forget, I'm S0 co0l!
